CONKLIN
WATERMAN
Waterman #7 Black - Red nib (5-1/2") $425
This pen is the successor to the color band red ripple pens. These #7 pens used the same keyhole color designated
nibs as their predecessors. Rather than designate the nib "color" by a cap band as did the red ripple models,
the color was designated by a colored dot with an inscribed "7" at the end of the barrel (see pic below). This one is
in excellent condition with virtually no marks, cracks or chips.
The red nib seems to be somewhat more flexible than most red nibs.
The barrel imprint is very crisp.
I am not sure it has ever been used, but I installed a new sac and made sure that it writes smoothly.
In Waterman's color designation for their nibs a red is "standard configuration for correspondence".
This one has been sold, but keep checking. Another one is expected soon.
The #7 is slightly larger than a 55 and slightly smaller than a 56.
In Waterman's color designation pink signifies flexible fine point.
Correct "pink" nib and pink band (replacement) on the cap.
This pink nib in, in my opinion, a bit finer and more flexible than most pink nibs.
The pen itself is in excellent condition with a complete barrel imprint.

The #5 is smaller than #7 and and has a flared end of the cap.
This pen appears to have been used very little. It has been inked, but it is in essentially new condition.
I did not replace the red cap band. It appears to be in perfect condition as do the white border rings.
The barrel imprint is strong.
It is an extremely smooth writer.
As an added bonus it has a hallmarked 9kt cap band inscribed F.D.W. (for Frank D. Waterman) and 9.375 signifying 9kt gold.

This pen has seen some use, but is in good condtion - no chips or cracks. It is a superb writer with a nice medium flexible nib.
There is a very faint personalization on the barrel - GST - which I have placed toward the scanner, but it is so faint that it
cannot be seen in the pic. This is consistent with the weak (actually, non-existent) barrel imprint.
Despite the nearly invisible personalization and the "weak" barrel imprint this would be a great daily writer.
